Yuefeng Aluminum Materials Institute won the Science and Technology Award of China Automotive Engineering Society in 2023

Recently, Yuefeng Aluminum Materials Application Research Institute Co., Ltd. led the research and development of the project "Automotive lightweight with high-performance aluminum alloy sheet and preparation of key technology research and application" won the 2023 China Automotive Engineering Society Science and Technology Award Science and Technology Progress second prize.
The China Society of Automotive Engineering Science and Technology Award is a science and technology award for the national automotive industry, which has been established for more than 30 years and is one of the highest honors in the field of automotive engineering in China. The award is a high affirmation of the achievements made by the China Automotive Engineering Society to the Aluminum Materials Institute in the research and development and application of aluminum sheet materials for automotive lightweight.
After more than 10 years of research and development by Yuefeng Aluminum Materials Institute, Yuefeng New Materials, Geely Automobile and other units, the project carried out a correlation study on the composition - process - organization - application performance of high-performance aluminum alloy plates for automotive lightweight, broke through the composition and preparation key technologies of six series of high-performance aluminum alloy plates, and won 15 national invention patents. Published 14 scientific and technological papers, published and implemented 1 national standard, was assessed as the international advanced level by the expert group organized by the Chinese Society of Automobile, in which the edge performance of aluminum plate and surface quality control technology reached the international leading level. It eliminates the pain points of "poor use of materials" and "no materials available" of traditional aluminum alloy automobile panels, and opens up the "blocking point" of lack of application technology. The project results have been industrialized in Geely, Ideal, NIO and other car companies to achieve import substitution. It has broken the situation of long-term dependence on imports of aluminum alloy automobile panels and exclusive production stage of developed countries, and has far-reaching impact on promoting China's automobile lightweight, realizing the "double carbon" goal and green development strategy.
In the next step, Yuefeng Aluminum Materials Institute will continue to increase investment in research and development, strengthen cooperation with Yuefeng Aluminum high-end manufacturing internal entities and downstream automobile manufacturing enterprises, constantly improve product quality and technical level, and jointly promote automotive engineering technology innovation and progress.
